With Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, and Halo Infinite released over a six-week period, winter 2021 has been a feast for FPS fans. Among these three games, Infinite was received very positively, receiving praise from fans for making it feel like an old-school Halo game, but it also received criticism on some aspects.
With Battlefield 2042's player base dropping by 70% in two weeks and Warzone adding the new Pacific Caldera map, keeping players in the game is critical for Halo to reclaim its throne as the best FPS game . To do this, 343 Industries will need to make some major changes, and we 've chosen five things we want to see from Halo Infinite in 2022 .

5. Better Cosmetics and Battle Pass
One of the biggest complaints ever about Halo Infinite has been about the game's cosmetics. Getting cool armor to make your Spartan stand out allows players to show their individuality, but Infinite isn't enough about it.
Free armor is nearly impossible to get, so 343 Industries needs to do something forbetter cosmetic items . Even those who bought the Season 1 Battle Pass struggled to grab the armor, forcing the developers to adjust the XP gained to help players. That doesn't mean we expect developers to scrap DLC armor, but at least everyone should be given a chance to get some cool armor.
4. Ranked Game Rewards
Halo Infinite's ranked game mode has been an undeniable success. Players desperately want to rise to the top and fight their way to Onyx, but the 343 can do more to make this grind worthwhile.
A great way to do this would be Ranked Play rewards . Imagine getting a cool Spartan skin to show you've reached Onyx, or a special weapon camo to flex against your opponents. It will take the mod to another level and allow players to showcase their skills in style.
3. More Game Modes
The Ranked Play mode is great, but sometimes you just want to jump into the old-school Halo mayhem. Great Team Battles is incredibly good, but there are a few more classic mods we'd like to see return to. Fiesta mods definitely need to make a comeback, but how the 343 will introduce them is unknown as they've changed the mod's rules multiple times over the years. Tactical SWAT and Snipers-only modes are also among the ones we want to see.
2. Classic Halo Maps
From Recharge to Streets, Halo Infinite has some great multiplayer maps . Unfortunately, the game was released with only 10 maps in total, and we'd love to see some classic offerings added to the mix. Who doesn't love returning to Blood Gulch once again or flying around Ascension like we did in Halo 2. 343 Industries should definitely continue to design new and exciting maps, but it would be the right move to include a few fan favorites from the past.
1. Battle Royale
Only one thing would top our Halo Infinite wish list: a battle royale. It's an undeniable fact that games like Apex Legends, Warzone and Fortnite have dominated the battle royale market in the last few years, so it's time for Halo to follow the same path. Halo is a game that almost looks like it was designed for battle royale mode. Normal multiplayer gameplay sees players picking up weapons to use during matches, while Infinite has many iconic locations where it would be easy to put together a map. We'll see if we can seea Halo battle royale in 2022, but it would be a shame if we don't get the opportunity to fight for BR victories in our Spartan armor.
