Escape from Tarkov Beginner's Guide – Series 4

In the fourth part of the Escape from Tarkov beginner's guide, we've compiled what you need to do to upgrade your hideout. Happy reading.

An integral part of character progression in Escape from Tarkov is upgrading and setting up your hideout ( Hideout ); however, most upgrades require some of the following prerequisites:

Since this is a beginner's guide, we will not cover the components needed to upgrade each part of the base separately; however, you will need to meet multiple requirements to upgrade the hideout and many other upgrades.

For example, to upgrade to level three vents, your PMC's power skills must be at least level three, your generator must be upgraded to level two, and other necessary items. Check each upgrade by clicking on it and start stocking up on necessary loot early. It's a good idea to focus on a few special hideout upgrades at once, or you risk running out of room in your stash. Note: The stash itself can also be upgraded from the hideout for a high monetary cost.

As a new player, some useful upgrades include:

As a new player, it's better to think small with bunker ( Hideout ) upgrades. It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the necessary loot required for each upgrade. Some loot to upgrade your bunker can be hard to find, so if you have the money you can look at the flea market for hard-to-find items.

Escape from Tarkov – Looting

Loot is a core part of Escape from Tarkov . It's a good idea to buy just about anything for newbies to the game. Anything you can find in Tarkov can (mostly) be sold to merchants and other players. Even if an item seems worthless, it can often be used to upgrade your hideout, can be sold for money, and may be required to complete some quests.

Apart from trading in Escape from Tarkov, there are three different available currencies: Ruble, Euro and US Dollar . Most traders trade in rubles, but trader Peacekeeper only uses dollars. Many items can be purchased through currencies; however, almost all traders will trade loot items for some items in their inventory. Click on each merchant's items so you know which items to look out for when looting. As your PMC, make sure to leverage your alpha container. The alpha container in your PMC's inventory contains only a few items, but if you're killed during a raid, nothing inside is lost. For this reason, it's usually a good idea to put items that sell out quickly (medicine, bullets, etc.) there.

Note: Bullets or gun magazines can only be used when placed in your tactical vest or pockets. If you come across a rare item that fits you, make it a priority to put those items in your alpha container.

Among other useful things to watch out for in Escape from Tarkov are Keys. Keys usually allow access to specific areas, rooms or vehicles on multiple maps. Keycards in particular are valuable as they are disposable items that allow your PMC to access the Labs map, which contains some hard-to-find loot .
