Both player-given and dynamically generated quests are a big part of Escape from Tarkov.

Both player-issued and dynamically generated quests are a big part of Escape from Tarkov. Some require you to buy things for specific merchants, while others require you to kill other operators or mark vehicles and specific locations. Quests are the fastest way to gain EXP . Completing one will usually reward you with experience points, merchant reputation, money, valuable loot, rare boxes, and unlock the purchase of new items.

When a trader has a suitable task, his icon has a green checkmark.

• Some items will only appear if the corresponding task is active. These items fall under the category of quest items and cannot be used, sold or thrown away.

• Quest items are guaranteed to spawn on the client side, so every player in a raid with the same quest active can pick it up.

• When quest items are received, they are transferred to the player's quest item inventory. If the player fails to extract it with a quest item, they lose it.

• To avoid losing quest items, it is highly recommended that you surrender them before starting another raid or transfer them to your quest item custom stash in the Quests > Quest Items tab if you don't want to continue the quest.

• The player does not need to avoid the Run Through state while they must be in the raid as there is no other way to obtain the quest items.
