Fortnite's New Update Brings DirectX 12 Support

Fortnite's new update offers DirectX 12 support to players.

Epic Games announced the changes to be made with Fortnite's 11.20 update. The new version of the popular battle royal game comes with the recently promised DirectX 12 support, as well as interface improvements, balances and bug fixes.

If you're playing Fortnite on PC, you need a video card that supports Microsoft DirectX 11. However, with the new update, you will be able to run Fortnite on PC with Microsoft DirectX 12. If you have a high-end graphics card, you will achieve higher and consistent FPS performance when you use DX12. Because DX12 offers much better CPU performance, it also offers the possibility to distribute rendering jobs to multiple cores of the video card.

Other changes made are as follows:

Campfires

The first of the most significant changes to gameplay was made in campfires. If you come across a previously used campfire, you will be able to use wood to rekindle and heal. You can now increase your healing rate by feeding fire for 30 woods and quickly regenerate your health.

Ammo Status

The new ammo status icon that appears near the aiming marker has also been added to the game. The new icon shows how much ammo is left before the weapon needs to be reloaded. So you won't forget to reload the gun and have a hard time in the middle of the battle. In addition to all this, daily missions are returning to Fortnite and you will earn XP when you complete them. You will have 3 missions every day and you can change the daily mission you want once a day.

Contrast Adjustment

On the other hand, with the new change to the user interface comes a new contrast setting. You will now be able to adjust the contrast using the User Interface Contrast section from the graphics tab of the display settings. You will also be able to filter items in the Locker section according to the season they were added to the game.
