Valorant's latest 21st agent , Gekko , was introduced in the finals of the VCT Lock//In tournament held in Brazil on Saturday. In the trailer, we learned a lot about the new Valorant agent's appearance, abilities and gameplay.
Included in the cast as a lead agent, Gekko is recruited from the country of Los Angeles. He has effective skills such as information retrieval and concealment. So much so that he even has a helper to both neutralize the spike and help him set it up.
All this gives Gekko one of the most unique kits ever in Valorant; You can read the descriptions below to get a full idea of its capabilities.
Each of Gekko's abilities is linked to one of his pet creatures that make up his arsenal. Each creature has a different use, its kit looks good at many different things thanks to each pet's uniqueness, and surprisingly its three abilities can be used multiple times if you manage to get the creature after the first.
E — Dizzy
When this ability is cast, it creates an orb/plasma that marks the enemy and then fires an explosion that damages the marked enemy. At the same time, enemies hit by the plasma are blinded.
Q - Wingman
Gekko Q ability Wingman is able to cast one of his lovable pet friends in a straight line, and the ability stuns the first enemy he hits. This is not his only skill. If Gekko has a spike, the monster he sends with his Q ability creates Spike, and even Spike can solve it.
C — Mosh Pit
This feature, which creates a poisonous area, inflicts high damage to the opponent during its stay in the area, and if it is not left the area, it results in death.
X — Trash
Gekko has the ability to manipulate this ability. The ability that can be sent towards the opponent thanks to the ability it can direct, reaches the opponent with a small leap forward and explodes.
Valorant senior game producer John Goscicki spoke about the new agent with these words;
It's always a challenge to keep the Agent cast apart while maintaining performance, Gekko was the greatest. Trying to keep them within certain game limits while trying to create 4 super different creatures you will fall in love with... is difficult. Throw in different situations and it's even harder. The team needed to work on a number of smart buildings so that we could preserve the creature's design and keep the game within performance limits.
Gekko will be added to the game on March 8 as part of Valorant Chapter 6 Part 2. Just like any agent, they can be unlocked for free if you earn XP through their contracts or buy Gekko with in-game currency, or they will automatically unlock for free if you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.
