Queuing Penalties Coming to Valorant

They complain about the players coming out of the queue for a long time and the players remaining AFK. The developers state that the spawn penalties for Valorant will come to the game with the 2.05 patch. Details are in the article.

Valorant developers recently launched a review for players who skipped matches in order to maintain their ranking in competitive game mode. In a recent Ask Valorant blog post, the developers of Riot Games announced that they are taking deep scrutiny of the penalty system for exiting players during match start, agent selection.

What is expected from the system is the punishment of players who leave the queue intentionally and affect other teammates and opponents. The ranks of the players who make such a move in the game will theoretically be reduced and will cause the player to lose their rank. In fact, if you look, the same system is also available in League of Legends, Riot Games ' moba game. It was assumed that this new feature would come first with the new available 2.03 patch notes . However, it looks like the developers are currently tweaking and digging into patch 2.05 to introduce this long-requested feature.

Dating During Selection In Valorant Will Be Penalized

When a player leaves the queue during agent selection, this situation affects the other 9 players negatively. Likewise, if a player stays AFK during the match, the same applies. Players want Riot Games to investigate the issue and provide a solution. As you know, Riot Games, like all its games, ValorantIt continues its development in . We can easily say that the company, which has done a very successful job in this regard, is a little ahead of other game makers and developers, so that some experienced players offer ideas to the developers on their community pages, based on the game, which is a successful example of CS: GO in terms of rating and competition.

In a Ask Valorant blog post, competitive systems designer Jon Walker, producer Ian Fielding, and strategic advisor Lea Hughes discussed the queue penalty coming in patch 2.05 . Regarding the regular players, the developers said;

QUESTION : Can you explain the reason for the planned Rank Point penalty for queue dodge? Sometimes I have very good reasons to run and I don't think I should lose the RR.

ANSWER : We understand that a Ranked Rating cut, no matter how small, can feel like a painful punishment, so we want to be extremely clear about how and why this system works. It's all in order: these changes will target players who repeatedly run away from the queue, and will have minimal effect on players who run away only occasionally. We hope that a minor (3-point) rank reduction provides additional deterrence for players who do away frequently, without too much punishment for the person who seldom dodges. With these penalties, we've also made it quick to regain your rank without affecting your MMR. However, repeated queue jumps will add up, and those who avoid repeated queues will feel the intended pain of it.

For reference, over 50% of spam behavior is actually done by less than 2% of players. In other words, a very large part of the players (if he does) only come out of the ordinary once in a while. Our targeting of players who frequently repeat this behavior will have a significant impact on the ratio of casual players you come across in your matches.

One final note: We'll be watching closely as we post the effects of these changes (targeted for Patch 2.05). If we miss the target - even if we don't reduce queue avoidance enough, and we punish our well-meaning players very harshly - we will make adjustments to the system. It's that simple. And we will keep you updated with any changes.

As we mentioned before, the system is planned to be included in the game with the 2.05 patch , and the developers aim to provide regulations by closely examining the system according to the results obtained. He is also quite optimistic about the queue penalties in Valorant , which could greatly improve the matchmaking system, as many players complain about queueing and being AFK . This will undoubtedly affect the people who are out of the ordinary and who frequently use skipping matches.
