On Day 5 of the epic rivalry at Valorant Champions 2022 , both teams were eliminated from the tournament. One of the important announcements made before the matches of the day started was related to the COVID-19 testing policy followed by the organizers. Before each match, members of participating teams are tested for COVID.
Unfortunately, the PCR test of an EDG player tested positive. As he felt good enough to compete, the organizers allowed the player to participate in existing matches via a built-in LAN network in their isolation facility.
The player who tested positive was allowed to participate from this isolated room while other EDG members and their opponents (Team Liquid) competed from the main stage. Due to this region, the Group A qualifying match was held after the Group B qualifying match between ZETA DIVISION and BOOM Esports .
We hope that such a situation will not happen in the next matches of VCT Champions .

Day 5 of the VCT 2022 Group Stage featured a total of 2 matches in best-of-three format.
Both teams gave their best performances to survive the ongoing Champions round. BOOM has obtained the first map of the series after an intense match. The intensity was the same on the next map. The only difference was that ZETA was the one that came out on top this time and leveled the series. ZETA continued that form on the last map and dominated BOOM to take a 2-1 win.

Liquid started the series on a strong score as they secured a 1-0 lead on the first map of the series. EDG looked completely helpless in the face of Liquid's performance. In the next map, EDG managed to put a significant amount of pressure on Liquid. They struggled on the second map but unfortunately it was Liquid who won back-to-back rounds to secure the map and the series 2-0.

BOOM Esports played against ZETA DIVISION. Both teams had to put their best efforts as the result would determine their fate in the VCT tournament. BOOM managed to get a win on the first map, but lost on the other two, resulting in their elimination from the tournament.

Team Liquid held their qualifying match against EDward Gaming. The team, showing tremendous prowess, won with a score of 2-0. While Edward Gaming made a bolder effort on the Breeze map, they still saw the defeat by a score of 12-14 and were eliminated from VCT Champions 2022 Istanbul .

Haven, in the sixth round of Map 1, Laz managed to kill four players from the BOOM Esports team. His impeccable appearance clinched the tour for his team who wanted to stage a resurrection. Laz got three kills with the Operator and finished the round with a nice headshot.

On the 24th and final round of Pearl's map, Laz was able to destroy the spike with his Operator and Headhunter abilities.

EDG ZmjjKK has been successful in clinching a crucial round for his team. After securing the opening kills and area B on the Bind map, he got into trouble by killing five of his opponents.

Team Liquid bought a half on round 22 of the Breeze map, where Jamppi couldn't afford a suitable weapon. However, he still had the trusty Headhunter, which he used with his positioning skills and was able to take down three enemies. Thanks to their brave efforts, the team got another round on map 1.
