► VCT Champions 2022 Istanbul Group D Predictions
-
The third day of the year-end tournament , VCT Champions 2022, continues with four teams facing their first group (D) matches and two winning teams from Group B to qualify directly for the Playoffs.
Group D features four of the best names in the VCT circuit: Fnatic, 100 Thieves, DRX and Furia. They competed very well against each other in the opening matches of Champions 2022.
DRX
DRX is a Korean Valorant team created through the acquisition of the former Vision Strikers roster . They are one of the best teams in the region and have proven their superiority over and over at the VCT Challengers.
This year, DRX took first place in the Korea Stage 1 Challengers (vs. On Sla2ers) and again in the Korea Stage 2 Challengers (vs Maru Gaming). They defeated both opponents with a score of 3:0.
FURIA Esports
FURIA Esports is a Brazilian esports organization founded in August 2017. The team's performances have not been so good so far in 2022. They placed fourth in the Brazilian Stage 1 Challengers and fifth in the Brazilian Stage 2 Challengers. However, he placed second in VCT 2022: South America Last Chance Qualifier (after winning 3:0 against TBK Esports) at VCT Champions 2022.
100 Thieves
The 100 Thieves failed to show their best in both North American Challengers stages. As such, the Stellar-led team has not attended any Masters events this year.
But they beat some of the toughest teams in North America like FaZe, Sentinels and The Guard to secure first place in the Last Chance Qualifiers, thus securing a ticket to Istanbul.
fnatic
Fnatic finished third in the EMEA Challengers Stage 1 towards Masters Reykjavik. However, they failed to perform as expected in Reykjavik.
The team returned to participate in the EMEA Challengers Phase 2, placed first and qualified for Masters Copenhagen. This time, the revamped roster took fourth place, a notable improvement from their performance in Reykjavik.
Fnatic dominated the EMEA Challengers and featured in both Masters events of VCT 2022. They have a slight edge in experience over 100 Thieves by participating in two international LAN events this year.
Optical Gaming
OpTic Gaming won its first major event in March 2022, taking first place at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik. They played at Valorant Champions Tour 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik (1st place), Valorant Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen (3rd place) and are now here at VCT 2022: Champions Istanbul.
LOUD
LOUD has represented the Brazilian region at three international VCT events: VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik (2nd place), VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen (11th-12th place) and the ongoing VCT 2022: Champions Istanbul.
