Valorant 's anti-cheat software , Vanguard , is perhaps one of the most uncompromising anti-cheat solutions for any first-person fps.
Not only has it earned the reputation of being incredibly sophisticated, but kernel-level software has also been subject to a lot of controversy.
However, no matter how many hardware bans or how many blue screens Vanguard showed during Valorant 's lifetime, one thing was for sure - Riot Games ' anti-cheat system was incredibly effective. Vanguard has been in discussions throughout the entire closed beta. However, with regard to the issues facing Ranked matchmaking, the discussion about Vanguard is now in the background and we haven't heard much from the developers about it. Paul " Arkem " Chamberlain during Ask Valorant #5, who recently became Valorant's Anti-Cheat leadhas taken to the forum to keep fans informed about the latest developments at Vanguard .
Anti-cheat, abilities that kill… sometimes, and kits we'd never put in game. All that and more in this week's edition of Ask VALORANT. Read all about it: https://t.co/8AbgxuF4IO pic.twitter.com/yfCmK3p50B

question asked:
"We haven't heard much from you these days, we were just wondering how things are going. Can you tell us how many cheats you've banned so far?"
Arkem replied:
“We were working on the anti-cheat system, but it's time to make a statement. So far we've banned a bunch of cheaters (and their computers) from the game and generally tried to keep malicious people out. We can always do better, but overall we are doing well. I don't have a total ban count to share, but I didn't want you to go empty-handed, so I brought you something for the fans: 1802”
The 1802 bans may be quite a lot, but it's pretty cool to see the developers taking the competitive integrity of the game seriously and not waiting for waves of bans to punish cheaters.
In Valorant , cheating seems relatively less common compared to CS: GO and Rainbow Six , and we hope Vanguard can hold this record even at the pro level.
