After Valorant's official launch on June 2, 2020, Riot Games has only released 11 agents. There are currently 20 playable agents in the game, and the latest addition, Harbor, was released in patch 5.08. When adding new agents to the Valorant roster, there may be times when the existing roles—Duelist, Controller, Vanguard, and Scout—will not be enough to fit all the characters. Many believe that Riot Games can add a new role and make room for new characters in the game.
“ As always, we need to strike a good balance between roles and playstyles,” Goscicki said of the addition of new Valorant agents . "But because we've added so many more agents to the game, we don't need to have a perfect one-to-one balance between all the roles."
So the Valorant community could witness a new role and a mysterious agent in late 2023.

According to John, the upcoming agent will be a Vanguard . Moreover, Riot Games will give this character a friendly personality that can make battles less stressful. Valorant 's 21st agent looks very young compared to most characters in the game.
John also explained the role of the second agent in line; He will be the watcher. However, for the third agent, Riot Games did not reveal any information and wanted it to remain a surprise until the time was right.
