Apex Legends has been going through constant updates and patches since Season 1, appealing to a large player base. Currently, Respawn has offered 29 different unique weapons and more weapons are planned to be added in the future.
Rather than letting players explore the weapon meta, Respawn carefully monitors the frequency of use of each weapon and how well it performs in different game modes. Each season, they adjust their weapons based on these factors.
In Season 16, some weapons have been slightly strengthened or weakened, but the base weapon balance has not been changed. However, Season 17 will bring some colorful changes to the gun pool. Let's take a look at what weapon changes await us in the new season of Apex Legends.

Care Package Weapon Change
In the Arsenal season of Apex Legends, Respawn is removing the overpowered RE-45 from its maintenance package and replacing it with the L-Star. The L-Star was previously the Care Package weapon in Seasons 2 and 3, but was not a popular option among players due to its low stats. In the new season, with a few buffs, the L-Star is now in the Apex weapon arsenal as a capable LMG.
Replicator Weapon Change
R-99 Weakening
Apex Legends is made more easily accessible for new players while using a system to encourage them to fully learn the weapons and characters . Its purpose is to further deepen player interaction, no matter which character they choose and which mode they play.
When the system starts, all players will start at level 1 for each weapon and will be able to level up using their weapon in any game mode. These levels will be account-wide and will not reset with seasons. Dealing damage using a weapon, killing enemies, and adopting the style of fighting with that weapon will increase the level of that weapon. Every 20 levels, a special trial will be unlocked for that weapon, and players will be rewarded for testing their skills and completing them. Upgrading a weapon to level 100 and completing five trials is required to reach a full "mastery" level for that weapon and earn final rewards . Every weapon masteryAlong the way, it will give players weapon-exclusive badges, lifetime performance trackers, legendary weapon mastery banner frames, and a guaranteed legendary look for every weapon.
