Unlike other games in the series , Battlefield 2042 shelves the traditional class system that ties weapons to specific classes. If you wanted to use an SMG in Battlefield 5, you had to choose the Medic (Health) class, even if you had no intention of healing or resurrecting your dead teammates. The new Battlefield 2042 Specialist system will allow players to choose the gadgets and features that best suit them, as well as the weapons they want.
This also opens Battlefield to different class types besides the normal Recon (Exploration), Support, Assault (Attack), and Medic (Health) archetypes. There's also the "Plus System" in Battlefield 2042, which allows players to instantly change weapon attachments.

If you've played the Battlefield 2042 beta, you've undoubtedly tried a number of weapons and playstyles. At launch, there will be loads of Battlefield 2042 weapons that will wreak havoc on your enemies. Now that the betas are over, you'll be able to try most of them and get a feel for your weapon of choice. We expect the majority of these guns to look like they did when Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19th , so let's take a look at what we know so far. All weapons so far in Battlefield 2042 are listed below.
Seven weapon types were available during the Battlefield 2042 beta period, and we expect to see them all at launch in-game. Most will likely get some balance changes and tweaks, but we think it will play out relatively similar to what you've experienced so far. Once another weapon is approved, we'll add them to this list, but for now let's look at all the approved weapons.
