Best Agent Picks for Valorant's Sunset Map

Best Agent Picks for Valorant's Sunset Map
Sunset is the latest game to be added to Valorant's competitive map pool. To maximize your chances of winning, we have listed the best agents you can play on Sunset.

So far, Valorant has released 10 unique maps . Although it initially started with Bind, Haven, and Split, Riot Games continued to add new ones every season except Episode 4.

Valorant's last two maps, Lotus and Pearl, were not as well received by the community as Riot Games expected. So, for Sunset , Valorant went with a fairly simple map layout with many angles and contact points that encourage gunfights without limiting the strategic use of abilities.

Each Valorant map has its own unique design and uniqueness, and this greatly affects what type of agents will be featured on the map. But with so many character options, it gets really confusing which agent to choose.

Valorant Sunset Map Layout and Agent Selections

Riot Games introduced Sunset in Valorant 7.04 update. The map is also based in Gekko's hometown of Los Angeles. It is also the second map in the United States and the seventh in the Omega Earth series.

Sunset has a fairly simple map layout with no noticeable gimmicks. It encourages a lot of gunfights for duelists, especially in the middle, which is a crucial area where all sides must be kept in check.

The map also has tons of angles and choke points. Teams always need to watch their backs; otherwise the flanks can disrupt the strategic games in the equation. So Sentinels play a very important role in keeping the flow of the game going.

Zones A and B have several entrances, all of which can be blocked by Control Specialists with smokes. It's impossible for any one agent to clear so many angles on Sunset. So having certain Vanguard agents can be a game changer.

Best Agents for You to Play on Sunset | Tier List

FOXNGAME

To adapt to Sunset's layout and features, we will now list the best agents that go hand in hand with the current meta. Since there are 4 types of agents in Valorant, each equally important, we will categorize the tier list based on the agents' specific roles: Duelist, Controller, Scout, and Vanguard.

The list will include the tier rankings of each agent from S to C. However, we will only discuss S and A Rank characters.

Duelist

TiersAgents
S-TierRaze, Neon
A-TierPhoenix
B-TierYoru, Reyna
C-TierJett

Raze

FOXNGAME

Raze remains the best alternative to Duelists, as Jett was heavily nerfed in patch 7.04 . Moreover, due to Sunset's tight spots and narrow angles, there will be many Cypher and Deadlock players who will use their traps to avoid any attacks from both Defenders and Attackers.

So, only Raze can bypass these traps using the Explosive Bag ability, which no other agent can currently do.

Raze's Bombot and Color Bomb bags are useful for clearing corners without even thinking about it. Combined with the abilities of Good Pioneers, it becomes much easier to advance as a team.

Neon

FOXNGAME

Sunset is a pretty small map, which makes it even better that Neon can use his mobility as a Duelist to fake, spin and engage them. Electro Arrow is a useful ability to reveal enemies from all corners and angles, which can be found all over Sunset.

Phoenix

FOXNGAME

Phoenix's favorite playgrounds are maps with sharp angles and tight corners, just like Sunset. Phoenix is the only Duelist who can quickly turn a corner, cross an angle using Dodgeball, and enter the area using Wall of Fire.

It should be noted that if a team does not have healer characters like Sage or Skye, Phoenix becomes an important choice on a map like Sunset.

Controller

TiersAgents
S-TierBrimstone
A-TierOmen
B-TierViper, Harbor
C-TierAstra

Brimstone

FOXNGAME

Unlike some open maps, Sunset has lots of waypoints and narrow entrances, making it easy for Brimstone to cover them using Smoky Airspace. Let's just say that Brimstone's fumes last longer than other agents, making him a must-pick character in Sunset.

But do not forget about his other abilities. Brimstone's Incendiary ability is a brutal force in post-spike situations. On the other hand, his ultimate can destroy the entire team if cornered.

Omen

FOXNGAME

Omen is also a big contender for the best Controller in Sunset. All of his abilities are really useful on this map. Although Omen's Fumes are not as permanent as Brimstone's, they are useful in their own way.

Also, due to Sunset's special map design, Omen is a very important character if a team wants to have a special lurker or flanker.

Sentinel

TiersAgents
S-TierKilljoy, Cypher
A-TierChamber
B-TierSage
C-TierDeadlock

Killjoy

FOXNGAME

Killjoy in Sunset is a must-have agent. His Turret can cover multiple angles at once, saving his team from worry for a while. Alarm Bot and Nanoswarm are also very important on the attacking side. Her ultimate, Isolate, is especially useful for attacking or retaking any area in Sunset.

Cypher

FOXNGAME

Cypher is a great alternative to Killjoy in Sunset . Depending on the gameplay, it might even be a better choice than Killjoy. Cypher's Booby Trap is essential for defending territories and avoiding the attack of enemy flanks.

Having Cypher on your team creates fear in the enemy and reminds them not to play stupid tricks by attacking from the flanks. Additionally, if you only have one Sentinel on your team, Cypher's Cyber Cages can be used as smoke, eliminating the need for a second Sentinel on the team.

Chamber

FOXNGAME

Chamber is one of the top agents for Sunset. Chamber's limitations do not prevent him from playing on this map due to its small size.

Initiator

TiersAgents
S-TierFade, Skye
A-TierBreach
B-TierSova, Gekko
C-TierKAY/O

Fade

FOXNGAME

Fade is the perfect precursor to maps like Sunset. Thanks to Ecel, you will not need to be constantly aware of the corners on this map. After chasing your enemies, your Duelist can take control and clear the first few corners. Even if you're playing alone, you can use the Pin feature to prevent enemies from leaving that angle.

Skye

FOXNGAME

Fade and Skye are quite similar in terms of gameplay style, especially on the Sunset map . The Hunting ability can clear deadly spots, while Guide Light forces enemies out of the area. Moreover, if you're playing a solid support role, Skye is a better option than Fade as she can heal her allies using Nature's Healing.

Breach

FOXNGAME

Breach is also a good choice in Sunset for players who want to annoy enemies while dealing a lot of damage without engaging in gunfights. All of Breach's abilities are well-suited to clearing critical angles and clearing paths for Duelists and supporting players in Sunset.
