Just days before the Elden Ring release date , From Software announced two more beginner classes of the game on Twitter; Bandit and Astrologer .
Bandit has been described as a dangerous character who pursues enemies in search of ideal opportunities and obvious weaknesses. They're also said to excel in ranged combat, suggesting that the bows could be much more reliable than they were in the Dark Souls trilogy. The astrologer has been announced to be the "heir to the shining school of wizardry," so much so that Elden Ring is likely to be adept at magic and enchantments, abilities that were heavily highlighted during the network test.

While they're roughly on the same scale as the bandit and priest imagination archetypes, they represent interesting new gameplay elements found in Elden Ring in both classes that weren't very well detailed in previous From Software games. Along with bow-wielding abilities, the Bandit class in Elden Ring will likely be given stealth, a mechanic that is central to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but is virtually nonexistent in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. By the way, mention of glowing spells in conjunction with the Astrologer class could potentially refer to more advanced spells that can be crafted or are more complex than those seen in the Souls series.
These classes are significantly different from Elden Ring's previously described Vagabond and Heroes; both were fairly standard beginner classes, probably suitable for power enhancements. While the Vagabond was more or less described as a standard armored knight class, the Hero seemed to be a variation of the same idea, even though he had a penchant for big axes.

The community response to the statements on Twitter has been positive, but these responses are not surprising as almost everything about Elden Ring has been met with incredible admiration. There doesn't seem to be a clear consensus among fans on the most suitable beginner class , and choosing from among the ten will ultimately depend on the player's preferred playstyle. Of course, those looking for a different challenge can choose Wretch, which is objectively the hardest class to play, as in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring , which has been more than two years since it was first announced, will be officially launched on February 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
