Details available via the Xbox Insider Hub suggest that Forza Horizon 5 may soon receive its first major post-launch DLC release . Forza Horizon 5 was among the highest-rated games of 2021 with a Metacritic score of 92. Many see the experience as a return to form, both for the long-running series and for the racing genre in general; so hopes are pretty high for developer Playground Games' post-launch support plans.
As Xbox's premier racing franchise, Forza burst onto the scene in 2005 with the release of Forza Motorsport from developer Turn 10 Studios. In particular, Forza games ' Motorsport series focuses heavily on professional racing. It's no surprise that Xbox released Playground Games' Forza Horizon spinoff in the fall of 2012, offering a much more comfortable experience and introducing the brand to open-world gaming for the first time. Naturally, the successful spin-off became a series in its own right, with its latest entry proving to be the most critically acclaimed ever. Twitter user and Italian blogger Aggiornamenti Lumia recently shared information about the Xbox Insider Hub test, possibly for Forza Horizon 5. Apparently, Microsoft's Xbox Insider test program has something filed as "WOODSTOCK_DLC_FLIGHT" that is currently undergoing user-based testing. Since "Woodstock" refers to Forza Horizon 5's internal codename, it seems safe to assume that DLC for the award-winning racing game could be released in the near future. It's worth noting that Forza Horizon 4 gets its final batch of DLC in 2021 with the release of the Hot Wheels Legends car pack. Since the fourth Forza Horizon game first hit store shelves in 2018, history indicates that Playground Games' plans for the fifth game will reflect post-launch support for Forza Horizon 4.
