Halo Infinite has a strong ranking system tied to the game's battle pass. In the ranking system, which rewards players for their progress, 343 Industries said that with the new Halo update Waypoint, the ranked system is "overly generous". For this reason, it was implied that there would be an adjustment to the ranks of the players.
Halo Infinite Ranked System Resetting
343 claims that the plan did not align with the expectations they had in mind. This is because players are placed at levels well above their skill level, considering it too easy to progress.
"As we've seen progressing much easier since the launch of the CSR system, these changes are rolling out to help get things closer to where they need to be."
All players will be degraded by one rank to regulate the system. The developers said the reset won't be too bothersome, as it allows players to spend less time at levels below their actual skill sets.
"Typically, after you complete your placement matches, your CSR is slightly lower than where the system thinks you'll end after playing for a while. Since the rankings reset mid-season, this time will be reduced to allow you to have a shorter progression after your placement matches."
The reset is expected to occur on Tuesday afternoon, February 22.
With this update, Halo Infinite plans to launch Forge Mode and another classic feature very soon, as well as a split-screen co-op mode coming soon.
