According to a new leak , next week's Tactical Ops event will bring many new game types to Halo Infinite , more than a standard mode per events so far. From the launch of the game, the future of the Tactical Ops event was already known. To combat the scarcity of game types available in the first month of Halo Infinite, 343 Industries has added multiple modes to the game; one of them was Tactical Slayer, the main mode of the upcoming event. Formerly known as SWAT, Tactical Slayer spawns players with Battle Rifles and is usually a game mode of who shoots first.

A Halo Infinite dataminer discovered files containing multiple Tactical Slayer variants at the Tactical Ops event, which will take place from February 8 to February 21. Alongside the standard BR start Tactical Slayer, there will also be versions of the game mode with the Sidekick pistol, Commando rifle, Stalker rifle and Mangler, according to data miner leaks_infinite.

It will be interesting to see how the different weapon formations will affect the way Tactical Slayer is played. Things will get particularly wild with the Mangler variant, as players will need to get much closer to their enemies than Halo Infinite's rifles for the weapon to be effective.
