League of Legends currently has a total of 166 champions . New champions emerge almost every year. And each champion has its own unique design, lore, and gameplay mechanics. Having access to individual champion information and background stories when designing Riot's characters is highly appreciated by players as it adds depth to the character.
The care put into the designs is exemplified by the fact that each champion has a nickname, epithet or alias. None of these names are chosen randomly. Each name has clear ties to the respective champion's origin, location, and surrounding culture.

It can be difficult to find all the champions' names or nicknames. For this reason, names compiled from various sources are included in this article.
Since Riot Games does not have an official list, a Reddit user created a list showing the real names of all the champions. Some of the new champions' names were collected from fan wikis.
Some champions' full names are unknown on the forums, Riot's database, or Wiki pages. But almost all champions have nicknames. They are not listed here because you can easily see them in-game.
