Riot Games , the developer behind popular games like League of Legends and Valorant , has confirmed a new MMORPG game set in the League universe . In December, Riot's vice president of IP and entertainment Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street confirmed that he was working on a massive project set in the League universe. Shortly after, he announced that the new game would be an MMO , sending fans on a spree of speculation and excitement. It was also among the announcements that the new League of Legends MMO will be released in Runeterra and its eight regions. League of Legends, set in the fictional world of Runeterra, has become one of the most popular games worldwide.

The developer company previously introduced two projects, a fighting game codenamed Project L and an action-adventure game codenamed Project F, set in the League universe, the world of Runeterra. The company shared a post on Twitter to officially announce the third game in development.

Official Statement by Riot Games on Announcements and Job Postings;
No, you are not dreaming, we are working on an MMORPG based on the League universe! We know that developing and creating MMOs requires a large number of people working, and if we are to bring Runeterra to life, we will need a sizable team. This is where you come in. We will periodically release new roles, but we do not currently have a specific open position in the team, we are just preparing for the journey.
Posted job postings in many fields. The MMO will be one of Riot's biggest projects to date , so the team needs to be big and talented. We probably won't see this game for a few more years as the developer team is still in the process of being put together. So the League of Legends community will have to wait to find out what the story will be and what the gameplay will entail. Players can finally get the chance to explore the rich, expansive world of Runetterra in a land filled with all kinds of environments and characters imaginable. From the icy, dangerous lands of the Freljord to the bustling city life of Piltover, there are many possibilities for Riot to expand further with this game.
