League of Legends has been receiving various system changes over the past few months. It all started with Ranked changes to accommodate two episodes in a season with more and better rewards for players. It also went as far as improving LP gains and losses in Ranked picks. Also, Dodge Penalties have been increased in patch 13.5.
Players who leave or exit the game after a competitive match will receive a warning that their LP will be reduced. This penalty applies to both won and lost matches. Other players in the lobby are informed that the player who leaves the game will earn less LP in their next few matches.
Apart from gradual changes , there have been many other behavioral and communication system changes as well. The mute system has been updated and the in-game chat has been expanded to facilitate communication between pre-prepared parties. Also, Riot is tackling toxicity through many of these changes.
The AFK system has also had changes in the past to help players remake games faster or not be held hostage. Riot is coming up with more changes to AFK players to add more penalties to the roster.

From this point forward, AFK players will be part of the Leaverbuster system with the following changes.
According to the official Leaverbuster FAQ, penalties for AFK players will also accumulate over time, adding turn delays as they replay. The change in the system made the players very happy, as it negatively affected the course of the game.
Exit penalties:

These penalties apply to all matchmade MOBA modes, including Closed Pick, Ranked Pick, Ranked Odd/Even, Ranked Flex, ARAM modes, as well as limited-time modes like One for All and Center Raid.
