After the previous 2.01 patch update, Valorant 2.02 patch notes were released. In the patch update, significant changes have been made to gun accuracy and ranked system issues.

After the 2.01 patch released in the past weeks , Riot Games has released the Valorant 2.02 patch notes before the fast-approaching Valorant Champions Tour . The first update that the new patch brings is the fix for on-the-go rifle bugs that players have been waiting for for a while.

Valorant shared with us in the last episode of Ask Valorant that the guns will bring adjustments to the shooting accuracy and ranked system . In most of the Valorant weapons, the accuracy rates decreased after the 3rd and 4th bullets, and this annoyed the players so much that the players could also encounter annoying deaths as the first bullets were quite accurate even when they were on the move.

With patch 2.02 , developers; It will significantly increase target deviation while running, walking and crouching, thus making it harder to kill someone while moving. Moreover, there are some changes in competitive matchmaking that will improve the gameplay experience of the players.

♦ Weapon Updates

Accuracy update when moving with the rifle: Bulldog | Guardian | Phantom | Vandal

When you run into your opponents while running from one point to another in Valorant , the bullet shots are very accurate while on the move. This can be good in some cases, and bad in others. With the new patch, the bullet deflection rate has been increased in the accuracy rate of weapons on the move for Valorant . Main purpose: It offers a more realistic perspective by reducing the accuracy of the bullets you spend on distant targets and on your enemies while on the move. If you can kill a distant target while on the move, you are on your way to becoming a good player. At close range, this will give almost the same results. These processes, which are still in the trial phase, may change in future patches.

  • Increased margin of error when running with rifles: 3.75 > 5
  • Increased margin of error when walking with rifles: 0.8 > 1.1
  • Increased margin of error when crouching with rifles: 0.3 > 0.8

♦ Competition Updates

  • The effect of level points has been increased. In this way, players will be able to switch to the section they belong to faster. Better ranks can be achieved with fewer encounters.
    • Players will climb to the rank they deserve faster according to their skills and performance.
  • Players whose ranks are between Iron and Diamond will be able to receive extra rank points if they perform above their normal performance.
    • The important point here is that you can go above your usual performance. It doesn't matter if you outperform your teammates or rivals.
  • Ready-made groups of maximum 2 people can be formed at Diamond 3 level.
    • In this way, Diamond 3 will pre-accustom its players to the environment they aim to reach, preventing the formation of ready-made groups of five before Immortality.
  • The leaderboard rank in your account can be viewed in the Career: Section Tier section. Your position on the leaderboard will be saved and displayed on the Division Rank Badge.

♦ Mod Updates

  • The gun shop in the game has been limited to clicking consecutively. This can cause game-related performance problems when players buy something as a result of constant clicking.
    • A slight limitation in most modes, this update will be applied strict in the Survival Battle mode.

In addition to the 2.02 patch notes,  an important point we can mention is that with the update, it  will be difficult for players who switch to the game from other battle royale games to adapt to the game. The running hit mechanic, which is customary in BR games, will not be effective in  Valorant .

♦ Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to place Spikes without making a sound.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the received weapons to overlap, thus causing the agent to try to pick up both weapons.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the chat box to remain open during gameplay.
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemy messages to still appear even though all opponents were silenced in the Survival Battle.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the duration to appear shorter than expected on the promotion screen.
  • Fixed Skye's Tracker being unable to locate enemies on the Zipline platform in Zone B in Split.
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to be unable to move when exiting Cypher's camera viewpoint.
  • Fixed some abilities not working even though the player was visible to the target in smoke from Brimstone and Jett.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Spikes to be installed on Sage's wall in Spike zones in the Icebox.
  • Sova Fixes;
    • Fixed an issue where players leaving the Owl Drone viewpoint could not move.
    • Fixed a bug that caused him to move with the wrong walking animation after using his Owl Drone ability.
  • Omen Fixes;
    • Fixed a bug that caused the agent to get stuck in corners when aiming at long distances with the Stealth Step ability.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the Out of Shadows ability to switch between equipped items immediately after selecting a location on the map.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the camera to drop when using Dark Shroud in poor network connection conditions. 
  • Yoru Fixes;
    • Fixed a bug that caused the thrown object to trigger the agent's sound instead of the object's sound after passing the Fake Throw through a teleporter.
    • Fixed a bug that caused it to get stuck in different parts of the map when using the Flapdoor ability.
