While their abilities may not require a lot of skill for the average player to master, they will still need some practice and rank knowledge to excel. Skye comes with a stack of kits filled to the brim with damage, surveillance, and AOE healing. Flash is perhaps the most powerful skill in his set. As such, an Agent like Skye is designed to dominate a close-quarter map structure like Ascent. Adding it to the team composition allows teammates to take a quick peek at corners, which can be crucial for mid control in arenas like Ascent .
Unlike Brimstone, the character of Skye is not that easy to master. As for a map like Ascent , here are a few points and angles for Guiding Light that every Skye enthusiast can use .
A long door- A zone
Defenders often position themselves near the A Door, Haven, or A junction. Because of this, Attackers attacking from A Long are subject to Skye's entrance buff.
As demonstrated by SpicyCurry , sending the Guiding Light Hawk over walls is more efficient. As Skye is able to guide Hawk , she catches enemies off guard and blinds enemies standing near A Door or diving into the haven.
Another trick shows players running A Long and flashing directly before entering. While this can be accomplished quickly, Skye's flash is extraordinarily powerful, which can also blind her teammates.
The official trailer for Skye showed off how she was charging from the B Tunnels with her Guiding Light. Following this model, SpiceCurry showed how to use an entrance flash to cut through Main B, Cabin and Gate B.
Naturally, this allows teammates to peek at the entrance and take down nearby opponents. However, it must be timed correctly; otherwise it will make your teammates shine.
In recent Valorant tournaments, the community has seen how control of Mid holds the key to Ascent . Assuming opponents will smoke both B Link and B Arch, players can get creative with Skye's Guiding Light ability. Players started sending Guiding Light over walls to the Bottom Mid and Pizza. Combine that with a teammate from B Armor (like Omen or Phoenix) and players can do some easy kills to take control of the Medium.
As a Defender in Valorant, suppressing certain areas in Ascent is crucial. For example, A Long is the only entry point for attackers other than A Long. Thus, it becomes imperative to block the enemy's charge from the Center to the A-Line.
Positioning Skye towards A Long will allow players to send Hawk directly to Mid. This cuts off B Link and Catwalk's view, forcing enemies to reevaluate their approach. Often times, in Valorant, opponents get into A Link while they are still shining. With correct reticle positions, players can quickly kill by simply holding them at an angle.
Players can get creative and use Skye's Guiding Light Hawk to go through the windows facing the B Tunnels. This buffs all opponents inside the B Tunnels and can be remarkably useful when stopping an early rush in Valorant or during a post-plant situation.
Players can position Skye in Heaven while defending Site A and wait for opponents to rally there. If timed correctly, he can send the Falcon over walls, buffing his opponents. This stops the planting of the latter as their focus shifts to Heaven.
Meanwhile, teammates can get ready to peek from A Doors and A Long or Heaven itself. The height advantage allows Skye to shine through anyone in the immediate vicinity and is deadly to the opponent. Another variation of this trick has players flash from Heaven and exit Window A. However, Valorant players tend to peek from Haven as soon as opponents go blind on Site A.
