Valorant World Championship 2022 has started in full swing. This year, many giantswill try to make their mark on Valorant Champions history and compete against some new teams .

As for the group stages, here are the teams in Group D:

• DRX
• Furia Esports
• fnatic
• 100 Thieves

The group stage will be held in a double elimination format. This means that the two losing teams will play the Lower Round and the two winning teams will play in the Winners group. Both winning and losing teams will play against each other, and winners from both of these groups will qualify for the playoffs. In this format, we will see two qualifying teams from each region selected for the Playoffs .

Valorant Champions Istanbul 2022: All about Group D

The teams in Group D are undoubtedly an exciting matchup. It should be noted that this will be the first match in which teams will face each other.

The teams consist of DRX from the Republic of Korea, Furia Esports from Brazil, Fnatic from the EMEA region and 100 Thieves from the NA region. The first match in Group D is between DRX and Furia. This will be an exciting match as fans will see some of Valorant's best pros face off against each other.

• DRX has had a successful spot at VCT: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavik in the past but lost to ZETA Division. They also qualified for VCT: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen, but lost in a match against FunPlus Phoenix.
• The DRX has a solid staff with consistent performance. Fans will definitely hope to see the team do everything against the others to bring home the title.
• Furia, on the other hand, is in a bit more of a struggle. They had also previously qualified for the 2021 Valorant Champions. Unfortunately they lost to KRU Esports and were eliminated from the series.
• Furia finished 4th in VCT 2022: Brazilian Stage 1 Challengers. They showed great promise in VCT 2022: South America Last Chance Qualifier and took 2nd place.
• Fnatic managed to secure 3rd place in VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. They also managed to secure 1st place at VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers and 4th place at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen.
• Previously, Fnatic fought alongside multiple big names for the Reykjavik trophy. They were eventually defeated in the final against the Sentinels and placed 2nd at VCT 2021: Masters Stage 2 - Reykjavik.
• 100 Thieves appears as a dark horse in the series. The team has had multiple dominant performances against some of the best teams in North America. A team that has been playing since the beginning of 2020. They qualified for VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin last year but did not win.
• After a crushing victory against The Guard at VCT 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifier, fans believe 100 Thieves' roster may have what it takes this time around.

In both Group D's opening matches, these teams will face each other for the first time. In fact, these teams have never faced each other and they only have visual information about each other from past matches played. It will be interesting to see how these seasoned pros deal with a brand new enemy they've never encountered.
